Pronunciation is one of the most neglected areas of language teaching. Very often teachers just skip it in their class, or narrow it down to pronunciation drills of new vocabulary. I'm gonna share my experience of integrating pronunciation into daily class work with adult students.

Teachers always have to hear their students complain that studying pronunciation is tedious. It truly demotivates both sides. I will show you 2 low-prep pronunciation games that quickly involve your students, helps improve their both listening and speaking skills. Once you practise these activities, you'll be able to adapt them to your students' age and level.

Every teacher has a few tricks up her/his sleeve. They are called no/low prep activities which we use as warmers, fillers or coolers to change the pace of a class, add variety, compensate for missing homework or the fact that we have more/less students in class that was originally intended. Yet, when it comes to online settings, teachers often struggle to adapt their tricks to on-screen activities. Free practice aimed at developing productive skills can be a challenge for both a student and a teacher. In order to speak successfully students need a very clear idea of what to say, how to do that and which linguistic means to use. Despite the fact that we as teachers often see language means as our primary concern, the truth is that the main problem for students is often the ideas that they should come up with. And it is where visual prompts can give wonderful results easing the stress of speaking and writing. Electronic story cubes, metaphoric cards and collages are easy to prepare and use, effective and fun.
