Visual literacy in the classroom - learning to see
In my presentation, I would like to briefly explain what visual literacy is and focus on a creative use of images in the classroom. Images do not limit to the coursebook only, quite the opposite, they are everywhere. The main focus will be on the use of students' mobile phones as a source of images. I want to show a number of hands-on activities that can be applied during the lesson. Then, I would like to present how applications such as Pinterest, for example, can be used. Finally, there would be some activities with the use of Instagram that most our student use on a daily basis. Memes, as we all know, make us laugh but can they be used in the lesson? Sure they can, but they should be used creatively.
